Pediatrix Medical Group, American Anesthesiology and their affiliated professional corporations provide physician services, including neonatology, maternal-fetal medicine, pediatric cardiology, pediatric intensive care, pediatric and OBGYN hospitality services and anesthesiology.
The successful candidate will act as a liaison between clinicians and the clinical system team both clinically and technically, managing, coordinating and overseeing the administration of all team members. The Manager of Clinical Systems provides clinical and administrative resource to the organization in all necessary facets of project to ensure timely, accurate and regulatory success and formulates and implements policies and procedures, and participates in strategic decision-making. Specifically, the Manager of Clinical Systems:- Manages and keeps track of the necessary enhancements/bugs fixes needed in the current version of the Clinical System, including requests from individual sites. Coordinates with the IS department to implement the changes.
- Provides the direction needed for the development of specifications and requirements for all Clinical Information Systems to include hardware and software needs, decision tables, data base content and management.
- Maintains liaison with professional organizations and ongoing continuing education to ensure utilization of current principles, techniques and policies to maintain and enhance all of the Clinical Information Systems.
- Coordinates the testing across departments for all new clinical system applications.
- Initiates contact with Medical Directors at each site to facilitate the installation of the clinical system.
- Provides ongoing updates to the status report for Medical Directors at each site.
- Manages the collaboration between the IS department and Billing department to correct data issues at individual sites.
- Manages all support issues generated by the physicians regarding clinical systems by ensuring that all requests are screened, prioritized, and implemented in an efficient and timely manner.
- Manages on-site visits to facilitate installation of the clinical system, providing educational inservices to all clinicians at the site level.
- Oversees ongoing education for the clinicians and corporate staff through progress notes, E-mail, follow-up phone calls, educational handouts and web demos, etc.
Qualifications include:- RN or NNP and office-based experience.
- Nextgen EMR implementation experience.
- Strong communication, decision-making, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to travel 25-50percent of the time, when scheduled.

The Clinical Informatics Specialist is responsible for planning, coordinating, and facilitating education for all user groups of the electronic clinical documentation system. This individual serves as a resource for initial orientation, ongoing education and support for clinical and non-clinical staff. The incumbent is responsible for overseeing the organization’s data warehouse and the development, implementation, and operation of a reporting structure that identifies, measures, and impacts the drivers of health care quality and cost. This position will also be accountable for meeting other relevant information needs of the health care division and the organization. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Develops an operating strategy for the health care informatics area, including:
a. A data acquisition strategy that assures clean and complete data within the data warehouse;
b. Development of a data reporting process that meets the expressed clinical and financial needs of the division.
2. Develops a data-driven approach that allows for the identification of trends (including detailed drill down of trend drivers), comparison of OPERS’ performance against appropriate benchmarks, assessment of vendor-specific and overall plan performance, and allows for the comparison of outcomes along a clinical quality and financial cost paradigm.
3. Researches and evaluates data resources including analysis tools to continuously strengthen the organization’s data reporting and analysis capabilities.
4. Coordinates the need for external actuarial involvement with the organization’s Actuarial Department.
5. Working with the Health Care staff, serves as a liaison with the organization’s external consultants and others relative to the evaluation of clinical outcomes, costs and performance.
6. Oversees the coordination of data sharing among multiple data sources, assuring timely delivery of data and reports.
7. Performs quality assurance ensuring data quality and corresponding documentation meet the organization’s expectations.
8. Designs, implements, and develops standard and ad hoc reporting capabilities using business tools such as SAS, Business Objects, Excel, Access, SRS, SQL and other software for data extraction and analysis.
9. Translates data into information for consideration in decision-making by senior management, summarizing results of analysis in written and verbal reports and, with the assistance of others, providing recommendations for improvement.
