Post [telemedicine] Cerner Replaces IDX as Software Provider for UK Health IT Project

Lots of info in today’s issue of the U.K. online newsletter E-Health Insider on the IDX/Cerner story. Cerner is slated to replace IDX Systems as the software provider for southern England's $1.63 billion NHS National Programme for IT. Cerner will provide software for the project's computerized appointment booking system. Delays in implementing software systems in the region are reportedly the reason for the decision to replace IDX with Cerner. However, further delays are anticipated as Cerner moves in.**In January 2004, Fujitsu Services, the main contractor in southern England, chose IDX over Cerner.
