According to Government Computer News, Massachusetts has awarded a four-year, $72 million contract to Maximus Inc. of Reston, Virginia for a range of customer services for the state’s
Medicaid program, MassHealth. *Reportedly, the contract contains options, which, if exercised, would raise the contract’s total value to $168 million over 10 years. *Under the contract, Maximus will operate a contact center, enroll managed-care members and obtain transportation authorization, process provider claims, enroll and credential providers, and create and maintain self-service options for providers and members through the Internet.**The project will shift providers to a paperless, Web-based environment that is compliant with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act.
