| Guidance needed . . . Hi all, My situation is that my gf and i are currently split across the country (her in NJ and I in CA) and I am searching for a solution to be back together again here in southern cal. She has a nursing degree from her college in Germany but is uncertain as to the process to getting accepted for work here in her field in the States. I am also uncertain since I know nothing of this industry. We've been apart for 5 months already and this distance is killing me. She is having to work as a damn house servant because she doesn't have citizenship yet. Life isnt fair but we are doing the best we can with what we have to work with. Can anyone out there help a couple of strangers by explaining the process as to how we can help ourselves acquire her work in nursing here in los angeles? I have many non-citizen friends here that assure me that she shouldnt have a problem because nursing is a highly sought after profession that many immigrants with degrees should be able to get very easily. I apologize if I sound ignorant on this issue but im just trying to get things straight so we can be together again and am searching any avenue I can find. Thank you in advance for any and all helpful guidance and information anyone here can provide. Respectfully, J |

| Re: Guidance needed . . . Try these. Immigration lawyers are always eager to help, but often are not needed. Nonetheless their websites often have good information Workpermit.com - Immigration - US - Visas for medical professionals - Visas for nurses https://www.shusterman.com/intake_rn-secure.html Working in the US CGFNS International About the Certification Program The CGFNS Certification Program (CP) is designed specifically for first-level general (Registered) nurses educated outside the United States who are eligible to practice as registered nurses in the United States. The program is comprised of three parts: A credentials review, which includes secondary and nursing education, registration and licensure; The CGFNS Qualifying Exam testing nursing knowledge (offered three times a year in over 50 test sites worldwide). The CGFNS Qualifyng Exam also satisfies one of the immigration requirements for securing an occupational visa to work in the USA; An English language proficiency examination. The CGFNS Certification Program Certificate is required of internationally-educated registered nurses by a majority of U.S. states in order to take the NCLEX-RNŽ licensure examination. |
