Nursing Informatics Australia Hello all Just a quick hello, I started in Nursing informatics by accident. Due to the implementation of Per-se (One-Staff) into our organization. It was meant to be a 3-month project (I have now been in this position for five years). I have found nursing informatics to be a very rewarding and frustrating experience. Would like to hear how others have gone into informatics as well. Regards

Re: Nursing Informatics Australia Hi Ricky, I am in the US in the state of Virginia. I work with the many software products for our large 6 hospital system in Northern Va. We are in the process of changing from Ansos to One-Staff. I mainly teach IDX Carecast our clinical information system to our 16,000 eimployes. There are five IT nurses that teach all of the software components. I also have been in this position for five years. I have been a nurse since 1974. This has been quite a change from all of my management and bedside nursing experience.

Re: Nursing Informatics Australia Hi there, I am a seasoned nurse informaticist in the U.S. and have been working as a consultant for the past 7+ years. I am wondering, are there NI consultants in Australia and if so, what types of work do you find yourself involve in ... implementation clinical systems, writing requirements, etc. Also, what might be the typical hourly rate for a consultant in AUS? Thank you in advance for any feedback. ot ![]()
