| RN Clinical Information Systems Specialist Clinical Information Systems Specialist Job Description: This position reports to the senior administrative individual in the organization and will oversee and examine current processes and protocols and compare to best practices standards, identify areas that require improvement and recommend priorities based on HIPAA and governmental guidelines and quantify, plan and implement process improvement projects. Responsibilities include: Documenting existing processes in order to establish a baseline for the development of improvements and to identify root causes and key issues. Ensuring compliance with business and clinical procedures and protocols and ensure consistency in application system use by staff. Serving as the expert on departmental electronic systems use and provide "how to help" on system use as well as handle business process or protocol questions. Decomposing strategic problems into discrete analytical tasks to analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing processes. Interfacing with the Information Technology Department to facilitate the use of technological solutions for process improvement. Making recommendations to improve processes or operational changes for existing or new processes. The successful candidate will be an RN with a Bachelors Degree in Nursing or a related health care field; a Master's degree is a plus. He/she shall have proven progressive experience in business and clinical process improvement, organizational change and project management. as well as a minimum of (3) years business involvement in electronic Clinical/Healthcare Systems. He/she shall have: - Ability to efficiently and effectively analyze manual protocols and processes as well as systems, data, processes and related information and must be able to understand and graphically depict complex functions in addition to documenting process flows. - Demonstrated ability in process and project management, operation and organization skills with particular emphasis on streamlining, automating and documenting processes - Familiarity with a variety of the Process Improvement concepts, Best Practices, methodologies etc. - Ability to quickly become Subject Matter Expert in departmental protocols, processes and work flow. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Visio. |
