Nursing Informatics Specialist

Job Summary:

• Responsible for leading and coordinating aspects of planning, development, implementation, evaluation, and maintenance of information and staffing systems used by the Department of Nursing.
• Coordinates, implements and evaluates the education process for clinical information systems for the Department of Nursing Associates.
• Utilizes the knowledge and skills of clinical practice to determine clinical functions that are suitable for computer application, while continually monitoring and evaluating opportunities for technological enhancements.
• Ensures that the information systems utilized are consistent with professional standards of clinical practice.

Experience:

• To effectively fulfill the requirements of this position, current Florida RN licensure is required.
• The candidate must have a Bachelors Degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program.
• Masters Degree in Nursing Informatics/Information Management strongly preferred.
• Experience in Nursing Informatics, with Meditech Systems required.
• Comprehensive knowledge of nursing practice and 3 years of previous clinical experience is required.
• Demonstrated ability to be self directed with excellent organizational, analytical, writing, interpersonal and project management skills.
