| Director of Clinical Information Systems Director of Clinical Information Systems Description: At Advocate Health Care, we realize that great management plays a key role in making great care possible. Advocate Lutheran General Hospital, a Magnet designated medical center, is a 617-bed teaching, research and tertiary care hospital with a Level I trauma center. Were also rated by U.S. News and World Report and Solucient among the top hospitals in the U.S. for medical excellence. Director of Clinical Information Systems - Responsible for all operational aspects of information technology activities related to nursing and other patient care areas as needed.
- The Director will lead the evaluation, planning, configuration, conversion, installation and support of multiple complex patient care systems to support the clinical needs of the organization.
- The position includes overall management of Nursing Information Systems personnel, operating and capital budgets, functions and activities.
- The Director reports to the Vice President of Clinical Operations.
- You will also be responsible for extraction of data from multiple clinical information systems, providing essential information utilized by clinical areas to support process improvement activities and managing the data clearinghouse to insure that patient health information is protected.
- This position requires a Master's degree or equivalent in Nursing, Business or Information Systems, 6 years' clinical Nursing experience (critical care preferred), 3 years' Information Systems experience in a leadership/supervisory role and current Illinois RN license. Demonstrated project management experience, staff management and development expertise required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and in report-writing software (Crystal Decisions or equivalent) needed.
