| Director of Ambulatory Clinical Informatics Director of Ambulatory Clinical Informatics for EPIC/DocZ. 1. Job Summary: Provides on-site leadership for planning, evaluation of existing workflows, and recommends ways to optimize the use of the electronic health record (EHR) for new and existing clinic conversions to docZ. Works closely with the Director of Clinic Operations, physicians and staff at the clinic. Serves as a liaison between the clinic, administration, the IT project managers and help desk. Assists with integration issues with in-patient and other components of docZ. Assists users with problem resolution relating to the EHR. Communicates project progress and outcomes to appropriate personnel. Assists with the coordination of appropriate user training. Works with others to identify opportunities for work process improvement of information management. Provides outcome measurement and evaluation data. Provides input to policy development relative to standardized workflows. Must have excellent communication skills to collaborate with physicians, directors, staff, the IT department, and others throughout the organization. 2. Education: A Bachelors degree in Nursing, Clinical Informatics or Health Care related field preferred. A Masters degree a plus. 3. Experience: Prior experience in nursing/healthcare management, education, development, and/or healthcare information management required. Experience with personal computers required. 4. License: If licensed, must hold current license for the State of South Dakota or other states as needed. 5. Continuing Education: Must fulfill yearly continuing education requirements of the department. Must complete orientation/training for various procedures and other inservicing as required. 6. Compliance: The employee will comply with the Corporate Compliance Policy C-800 and all laws, rules, regulations and standards of conduct relating to the position. The employee has a duty to report any suspected violations of the law or the standards of conduct to his or her immediate supervisor, Compliance Officer or the Chief Executive Officer. 7. Job Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of clinic operations, strong analytical decision-making skills; synthesizing information; presentation skills; project/fiscal management skills; communication and group facilitation skills; conflict resolution skills; negotiation skills; innovative problem solving skills; effective planning and organization skills; effective written and verbal communication skills; flexibility; work with PC software (Word, Excel, Visio, and Power Point); experience with clinical/educational information systems development and /or implementation helpful; demonstrated ability to be self-directed; demonstrated ability to function well under pressure. 8. Employment Variables: Work is performed in office and clinic environments. Work hours may vary according to workload. Occasional evening and weekend hours. Travel to various clinic locations is required. 9. Professional Affiliation: Membership in a professional/community organization is encouraged. 10.
