| Diagnostic Imaging Informatics Analyst (salary info included) Job Title: Diagnostic Imaging Informatics Analyst Job Category: Information Technology Sub Category: Radiology Department: Diagnostic Imaging Salary: $52800 - $79200 Employment Status: Full Time Work Week: Mon-Fri Shift: Days Function: Manages and maintains the Radiology Information System (RIS) database and associated ancillary databases. Scope: Responsible for day to day operations of DI patient care databases including troubleshooting, implementations, reporting and upgrades. Works independently, efficiently and responsibly to complete tasks. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 1. Maintains all patient care databases within the division. Ensures data reliability and integrity. 2. Develops working knowledge of the RIS application, Dictation system, RadStation, ClinicStation, ADT, Orders, PACS & Dictation Interfaces and other ancillary information systems within the division. 3. Manages special projects as assigned. 4. Assists customers with design of management reports and information requests. Creates efficient queries and reports to provide requested data within reasonable timeframe. 5. Determines, in collaboration with the RIS Manager and Informatics Director, data management requirements for new projects. 6. Interacts frequently with the RIS Manager and Systems Analyst to ensure proper utilization of systems resources and review of database errors, backups, segment/disk utilization and database security. 7. Accepts assistance calls from users, troubleshoots problems, determines solutions and contacts customer support when division informatics staff cannot resolve problem. 8. Shares on-call responsibility for system problems during evening hours, weekends and holidays. MARGINAL FUNCTIONS 1. Attends users-groups meetings and other educational/informational meetings, seminars and conferences to keep informed about software changes, upgrades and new product lines to ensure the division maintains the most practical and contemporary information processing products. 2. Assists with desktop support and network projects as time permits. OTHER 1. Demonstrates exemplary interpersonal skills. Establishes and maintains a high level of professionalism through cooperation, receptiveness and sensitivity to others. 2. Demonstrates a high level of customer service philosophy and supports the Institution and Division Mission and Vision. EDUCATION Required: Bachelor's degree in informatics, business, computer science or a healthcare related field. Relevant experience may be substituted for degree. Preferred: Advanced degree in informatics, business, computer science and/or database administration certification. EXPERIENCE: Required: Demonstrable skills in use of personal computers, computerized information systems and experience in database design and management. Preferred: Experience in support of Radiology Information System. |
