Job Responsibilities:
The individual assuming this role will have responsibility for managing governance and decision-making processes across a broad spectrum of constituent interests, aligning I.S. departmental activities with physician services strategy. Candidates must be able to build enthusiasm for and adoption of new software and will serve as the subject matter expert within the project with respect to product features/capabilities and future-state workflows. He or she will lead workflow redesign and implementation rollout efforts within the department and leverage knowledge of clinical workflow to guide process, policy and procedure changes necessary to fully realize benefits of major investment in new suite of software supporting core clinical care, ancillary care, and revenue cycle management.
The individual will take responsibility for completion of projects encompassing profound fundamental change to clinical processes. They will leverage knowledge of and experience within ambulatory healthcare settings to resolve complex issues. Additional responsibilities may include developing and refining strategies and tactical plans to align programs with overall hospital strategy in a dynamic business climate, managing prioritization and decision-making processes at the executive level, reviewing internal training curriculum and materials, developing clinical/business workflow testing scenarios, and communicating program / project goals and impact to various clinical constituencies within the hospital community.
Required Skills:- Clinical transformation experience
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of clinical care delivery and supporting workflows
- ability to translate user needs into technical specifications
- experience delivering services within a client facility
- experience with healthcare IT systems, either through project work (implementations, upgrades) or steady state operational support
- project management experience, preferably with a PMP (Project Management Professional) certification.
- Candidates must be able to provide expert consultative guidance and direction on change initiatives affecting clinical care processes.
Desired Skills:- successfully managed or participated in one or more clinical transformation projects in an academic medical center / research facility. large provider organization, or physician practice management organization, delivering software to enable new functional capabilities (e.g., Allscripts preferred but not required.)
- be able to articulate some of the benefits and constraints of working with a commercial software vendor.
- The individual will have had success working with senior clinical and administrative leadership to develop and refine strategies for advancing clinical computing capabilities.
Minimum Educational Requirements:- BS required
- Masters preferred
