| Clinical Informatics Nurse Clinical Informatics Nurse
Job Summary: - The Clinical Informatics Nurse serves in an infrastructure role across the organization;
- coordinates paper medical record form approval process for all healthcare providers functioning under the medical center license;
- ensures forms are standardized and integrated with other disciplines as appropriate;
- analyzes forms and checks compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements, specialty organization criteria, hospital policies and procedures, and Medical Staff By-Laws/Rules and Regulations;
- ensures paper forms are suitable for transition to electronic format;
- participates in CERNER and other clinical applications design, validation, testing, staff education, and go-live support;
- maintains in-depth knowledge of clinical applications utilized at LLUMC, e.g., CareNet, Inet, Pharmnet, E-Mar, Power Plan, COmputerized Physician Order Entry (CPOE), DocuSys, HMS/PHS;
- works flexible hours during go-lives including week ends and nights;
- assists with the collection and reporting of metrics defining benefits realization and return on investment associated with Clinical Information Systems;
- works as a clinical nurse a minimum of two days per month to maintain clinical skills and evaluate clinical information systems(s) documentation design/build with actual clinical practice;
- monitors applications use, system performance, hardware and software reliability;
- reports findings to Interdisciplinary Clinical Informatics Team;
- demonstrates behaviors which support excellence in customer service, patient safety, and professionalism;
- contributes to a work environment of caring and cooperation among a culturally diverse workforce and patient population;
- performs other duties as needed.
Job Specifications: - Associate degree in nursing required.
- Bachelor's degree in nursing, administration, public health, finance, education, or other healthcare-related field preferred.
- Active California Registered Nurse (RN) License required.
- Nursing experience which has provided opportunity to demonstrate competencies in clinical nursing, computer sciences, administration, education, and/or staff development required.
- Knowledge of CERNER clinical applications, regulatory standards, healthcare law and finance preferred.
- Able to: read; write legibly; speak, in English with professional quality.
