[telemedicine] Australia Deploys Nationwide Electronic Health Records System

The Ministry of Health and Ageing in Australia has released a detailed strategy for introducing a nationwide electronic health records system over four years. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services still has not finalized its health information technology strategy, Australia’s federal government has committed $96.6 million to launch its HealthConnect e-health records system nationwide. The first phase is already under way in Tasmania and the Northern Territory.
