SNOMED International has developed a new program: *SNOMED Clinical Terms and Nursing Content* scheduled for December 8 at its headquarters in Northfield, IL. The program will focus on:

- The basic elements that comprise SNOMED CT
- Major hierarchies in SNOMED CT and their relevance to nursing-related content
- The primary use case for the choice of SNOMED CT for use in nursing practice
- The role of ANA-recognized nursing classification systems within EHR systems to represent nursing knowledge.
- Content integration and knowledge representation
- SNOMED CT's request submission process
- SNOMED CT's nursing maps
- Hands-on experience to learn how to encode nursing content e.g. assessment instruments, order sets, and plans of care to SNOMED CT
- Group discussion and input regarding potential coding dilemmas
