CLINICAL DESIGNER - Knowledge Integration

Opportunity: CLINICAL DESIGNER - Knowledge Integration - (2 pportunities; 7782 and 7789)

Position Location: Kansas City, Missouri

Position Overview:
The Knowledge Integration team develops referential and evidence-based content which enables Cerner Executable Knowledge® solutions.

The Clinical Designer - Knowledge Integration, is a client-interfacing role that works with a variety of Cerner solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for formatting, designing and building relevant clinical content into appropriate workflows to provide end-users with knowledge at the point of care.

Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Engaging in clinical / functional design discussions with multi-disciplinary teams

- Providing key knowledge of implementation of standardized, streamlined clinical content which achieves automation of care processes

- Formatting and designing submitted clinical content according to Cerner processes (including documentation, ordering alerting and notification actions, reporting needs)

- Building clinical content into the appropriate workflow and software application


Required Skills:

Technical:

- Minimum 4 years clinical / nursing experience within an oncology, or pediatric, or ICU environment
- Demonstrated aptitude for clinical research
- Ability to successfully synthesize and apply a breadth and depth of clinical data
- Logic oriented, with meticulous attention to detail
- Proven / polished presentation skills (client interfacing and/or conducting educational seminars)
- Intermediate level expertise with MS Office suite of applications, particularly Excel

Non-Technical:

- Excellent communication skills with proven abilities in setting project team and client expectations, and communicating IT technical concepts to non-IT technical team members and/or clients
- Living in the Kansas City metropolitan area

Educational Requirements:

* Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent work experience with appropriate licensure/accreditation

Other:

* Ability to travel 20% to 50%.

Desired Skills:

- Knowledge of / experience with clinical informatics or patient care applications
- Familiarity or experience with Cerner solutions a plus
