Systems Administrator, Virtual PICU Under the direction of Children’s Quality and in collaboration with the Chiefs of Pediatric Critical Care, the system administrator will coordinate the VPICU system used for our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. This system (Welcome to the VPICU Website) is used to produce statistical reports and related studies relevant to Quality Assurance issues in the PICU. This role includes some supervisory responsibilities. We seek a Registered Nurse with a strong informatics background and excellent instructional skills for this outstanding opportunity; pediatric critical care experience highly preferred. In this role, you will oversee the accuracy and timeliness of all PICU data, address and resolve problems with manual and automated systems in the PICU, and prepare reports and statistics concerning processes, outcomes, utilization and efficiency. You will coordinate all system upgrades and changes with NACHRI/VPS, a nonprofit initiative formed to improve critical care quality and outcomes for all children and their families through collaborative high quality data management, as well as actively participate in NACHRI User Groups. You will perform orientation and ongoing training of staff in the usage and upgrades of the VPICU information system, and serve as liaison with IS vendors, MIS department and other departments regarding any system issues. The ideal candidate must have a Bachelor's Degree from a recognized college or university, preferably in Information Systems; equivalent MIS experience accepted. Registered Nurse (preferably with pediatric critical care experience) highly preferred. Must have exceptional organizational and training skills, along with extensive PC/database skills. #1 in New York. #6 in the Nation.
